Day 3 / 502 miles

Well, i don't know where to begin with today's journey. I forgot about the time change. We lost an hour in Knoxville. We ended up at a place called Natural Bridge in Virginia. Its about 20 miles north of Roanoke. Its a pretty neat place with a lot of history and some pretty neat stuff to see.
Anyway, we got started a little earlier then yesterday. We left Gadsden at around 9:30 this morning and headed north. Before we left, we talked with a friend that moved from Houston to west Virginia about 6 months ago, anyway Wrench mentioned that the road we would be traveling today would be busy, but I didn't believe him, boy was I wrong. I thought I was back home during rush hour. It was busy. Had way to many 18 wheelers on the road. needless to say with that much traffic, it was a little more tense than yesterdays travel. Yesterday, it was Loray that couldn't get comfortable in the saddle. Well today, it was me. no matter where I tried to sit, it just was not working for me. We pulled up at the hotel here at around 8:00 this evening and I was moving around just about the whole trip today. we were tired when we pulled in for the night.. For those of you that ride, know that to go on a trip of any length, at some point you will run into rain, well that day for us was today. we had just crossed into Virginia and stopped at a rest stop for a butt break when just as we were leaving, it started to sprinkle, well like a dummy I forgo getting the slicker suits out, instead, we just took off, well no more than 5 miles up the road, the clouds opened up and came a down poor. Needless to say, we got soaked. Traffic slowed to a crawl, which was a good thing as i couldn't see very well. we found and exit and took it and found a gas station for a much needed break.
The scenery did not disappoint us as there were mountains/hills all around us. very scenic. My guess it will only get better. this area of the country has so much history and things to see, You could spend a whole summer in this area just riding to different spots.
Well tomorrow, we hope to be in Bethal, New York
Its been a long day so will call it a night, Well we do need to post a few pics.
See ya'll tomorrow night.

I don't have much to add to Marks view tonight, other than, when we stop at the gas station during the rain, we must have looked pitiful because the lady running the store came out with hot chocolate for Mark and I.  She said we looked cold and wet.  I thought that was so generous of her.  We passed a truck/trailer from Pearland, Texas, that was cool.  Then we passed another car from Texas, and they started waving when they saw our Texas plate.  Everyone so far has been very friendly, I worried about that.  Goodnight.

We had breakfast at the hotel in Alabama.

Lunch in Tennessee.

Then came the rain.

Loray and the hot chocolate.

Hazy sky over the mountains.

Convoys all day.

Where are we at?

He peed....lol

Hotel tonight.

Goodnight!
